HAPE Toys Monkey Pop-Up Track Review

HAPE Toys Monkey Pop-Up Track Review

Since Bear was born, I wanted all the toys for him. Well not ALL of them, but lots of brightly coloured, noisy, flashing lights, take-up-the-living-room type toys. I’m not totally against them, but recently, I’ve had my eye elsewhere. Wooden Toys. They’re just so beautiful and look so well made so when I was contacted to review a Hape Toys wooden toy, I jumped at the chance. I do want to change a lot of Bear’s toys over to wooden (obviously there are some toys he still loves and plays with) but I am wanting to introduce more to him. We were sent the Monkey Pop-Up Track* and it has quickly become one of his favourites. Also helping with his speech (I’ll explain that in another post), his counting and his sequencing, which is absolutely fabulous in my eyes.

The Monkey Pop-Up Track is this cute little piece of wooden track with a green plastic attachment (though you cannot separate them…my toddler has probably tried). It comes with 3 little wooden monkeys and a little wooden banana train piece with a magnetic front and back. You simply pop the monkeys into the 3 holes in the ‘grass’ and you will hear a click. Then drive the banana train along and let it flick the 3 switches thus making the monkeys fly out.

It’s a really cool little toy and bear absolutely adores it. When playing with it, he likes to pop the monkeys in whilst counting them (it’s more like “deh, deh, dehhhh” kinda counting but he knows what he’s doing. We then say 1, 2, 3 together followed by GO as we drive the train along the switches to make the monkeys fly out. He likes to say “YAY” and clap at this part.

The Monkey Pop-Up Track has quickly found it’s place amongst the toys we already have. Bear plays with it every single day without fail and he loves bringing it to us or dragging us by the hand to play it with him.

I just absolutely love this toy, it’s helped so much with his patience and his sequencing/counting skills. It’s so beautifully made and the colours are gorgeous. Despite how much it gets played with, I really don’t see it becoming damaged or much visibly worn anytime soon. Even daddy loves it! (He doesn’t understand why there are so many toys taking up the living room ha!)

Oh it really is! It’s quite small too so easy to tidy away. Such a great toy! Xx

I love the look of this! We have a huge box of wooden blocks for Tyler for when he’s a bit older and I might have to add this to his Christmas list!

I would definitely add this to his list, wooden toys are just so much more appealing in my eyes and they last ages! Xx
