Something you may not know about me is that I am a huge stationery lover. I love cute notebooks, different styles of pens, craft papers, adorable accessories. You name it, I’ve probably got a secret stash somewhere (remember the gel pen craze of the 00’s?) Something I have never tried before though, is chalk markers. When I was younger, I loved drawing and writing with chalk on the pavements and in the street (we lived in a cul de sac and it was gonna rain and wash it all away anyway) but now, chalk really goes through me. That is until Chalkola contacted me and asked if I’d like to try out their chalk marker pens, and the fun part for you guys, keep reading and you could bag yourself some!
I have been an awful blogger. I can only apologise, most importantly to my guest poster for this post Tilly. This month has met me with some down moods & slight health concerns, along with the non-motivation to do very much. I have struggled. But we’re not here to focus on that. I’m posting my Oh My Blog! Guest post (finally) and even though it’s mother’s day themed, I’m sure a bit of appreciation for our mums can be welcomed any time of the year.
I’ve taken part in different twitter chats for bloggers for a while now and something I noticed, was that even though there were some twitter chat infographics out there, I struggled to keep up with some still. None of them featured parenting chats (or at least, none that I’ve found). So I took it upon myself to create one with all chats I know of whether that be for beauty bloggers, lifestyle bloggers, parenting bloggers, fashion bloggers, book bloggers and more.
I’m always on the lookout for how to help my family and I with working on a tight budget. However, I’m always looking for ways to help us even more. Whether that is with; food, gifts, shopping, days out etc. I’m always switching where we shop for food due to whats the most affordable, most deals etc. but here are my basic methods for feeding a family on a budget. First off, I’d like to say I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and a fantastic break (If you got one). I’ve had a HUGE break from my blog and writing and well, anything really ha! But seriously, I’ll be honest, I returned to work after 9 months of maternity leave, however, I wasn’t feeling great in terms of my mental health and so I’ve had to take a little more time. I’m struggling (there, I said it) but I’m currently on antidepressants and have started Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I digress…
In the last week, I’ve taken a little time to look at myself. I’ve realised, things need to change. Yes, I am a mum and a full time employee and pretty much keeping the house together and myself and my child alive BUT, I haven’t even taken care of myself. I had a bubbly bath the other day and used a face mask, neither of which I have done in over 10 months (10 minute showers have been my best friend in what feels like forever ha!) I dress frumpy, a ‘mum’ look if you will. I have very few hobbies as I’m usually so exhausted and all I want to do when I’ve put bear to bed and washed his bottles etc, is climb into bed myself. I realised, all of this needs to change. View Post
